Job summary

Bridgestone in Pune is seeking a Safety & Fire Prevention professional to ensure regulatory compliance, implement global safety standards, and manage fire protection systems. The role requires an advanced safety diploma and relevant engineering background, with SAP and MS Office skills.

The candidate will lead safety audits, drive emergency preparedness, coordinate licenses, and train staff across the plant, ensuring swift incident investigations and continual improvement.

Qualifications

• B.E./Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical degree with an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (MSBTE) is required.
• SAP, computer literacy and MS Office knowledge are mandatory.
• Comply with applicable factory and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance with Factories Act, Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, PESO, NBC, NFPA.
• Coordinate renewal of statutory licenses and prepare required reports.
• Drive global safety standards and prepare periodic safety and disaster prevention reports.
• Oversee fire safety audits, maintenance of fire protection systems, and emergency infrastructure.
• Coordinate emergency drills, PTW system, and safety training for employees and contractors.
• Support RCAs, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives; manage cross-functional teams.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006, PESO, NBC, NFPA and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate renewal of Factory, PESO, Sulphur, LDO, Boiler, and other statutory licenses.
• Submit statutory reports, maintain legal records, and support compliance audits.

Global Safety & Fire / Disaster Prevention Reporting

• Support implementation of Bridgestone Global SHE standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Disaster Prevention and Safety reports, Survey etc
• Coordinate APIC communication, incident sharing, and Disaster Prevention and Safety compliance reviews.

Fire Safety & Fire/ Disaster Prevention Activities

• Lead Global Fire & Safety audits, drive compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Ensure operational readiness, maintenance, and AMC management of fire protection systems, firefighting equipment, and emergency response infrastructure.
• Coordinate emergency response drills, Disaster Prevention campaigns, and disaster preparedness initiatives across the plant.
• Administer and monitor the Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) system, with special emphasis on Hot Work permit compliance.
• Deliver Fire Safety, Disaster Prevention, and Emergency Response training programs to employees and contractors.
• Support incident investigations through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and sustenance of improvement measures.
• Effectively manage teams, contractors, and cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve safety and DP objectives.
