Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited [Automotive and Farm Equipment Business] is seeking a Safety & EHS Engineer to support safety systems implementation across Greenfield projects and ongoing operations in Nagpur. You will drive risk assessments, audits, and training to maintain a safe workplace.

You will collaborate with civil, utility, and manufacturing teams, ensure compliance with regulations, maintain safety records, and coordinate emergency drills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in safety/EHS
• Greenfield project experience is an added advantage
• Experience with risk assessments (HIRA/HAZOP) and safety audits
• Knowledge of statutory safety regulations and permit-to-work systems

Responsibilities

• Greenfield Project Phase: Support implementation of project safety requirements during civil construction, utility installation, equipment erection and commissioning activities.
• Greenfield Project Phase: Conduct workplace safety inspections, contractor safety monitoring and hazard identification across project areas.
• Greenfield Project Phase: Assist in risk assessments, HIRA, HAZOP studies and safety audits for project activities.
• Greenfield Project Phase: Monitor compliance with site safety procedures, PPE requirements, permit-to-work systems and statutory regulations.
• Operations Phase: Perform routine workplace safety inspections and safety audits across plant operations.
• Operations Phase: Maintain accident prevention plans, incident records, near miss reports and safety MIS.
• Operations Phase: Support employee, contractor and vendor training programs relating to safety and EHS requirements.
• Operations Phase: Coordinate statutory compliance activities, safety initiatives, emergency preparedness drills and corrective action implementation.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the role:

Support implementation of safety systems, risk assessments, statutory compliance and safety awareness activities during Greenfield project execution and post-SOP operations to create and sustain a safe working environment

Roles and responsibilities:

Greenfield Project Phase

Qualifications

B.E.- Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering
