Job summary

Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS) seeks a Section Head- Mechanical Maintenance to ensure reliable plant operation and lead maintenance programs. The role emphasizes minimizing downtime, adherence to preventive maintenance, and driving improvements across the mechanical maintenance team.

You will steer planning, spares management, utilities tracking, and safety/compliance activities while mentoring staff through Kaizen and PDCA cycles within an ISO/TS16949 framework.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Planning: track and reduce downtime of plant and machinery to achieve the target 1% downtime.
• Smooth and efficient completion of preventive/maintenance and daily routine activities. Adherence to Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
• Enhance life of costly spares through predictive maintenance. Adherence to Predictive Maintenance Schedule.
• Spare parts planning for plant and machinery. Monitor number of machine stoppages due to spares unavailable.
• Track and reduce consumption of utilities (air, water, electricity).
• Spare consumption: track and reduce consumption of spares. Implement machine improvement requests raised by Production Dept. Monitor number of days taken to implement.
• Manpower: development for maintenance department. Identify training needs and prepare training plan as per requirement. Manpower engagement through Kaizen, QC, PDCA. Maintain skill matrix, training records, monitoring QC/PDCA per person per month.
• Quality: adherence and compliance to ISO/TS:16949 requirements. Monitor number of NCRs.
• Safety: Safe Operations – identify and address unsafe activities during shift operation. Close safety audit findings. Monitor number of unsafe practices found during safety audits and number of days taken to close audit findings.
