Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced design engineer for frame, mounting aggregates, and engine mounts across a 4T to 55T GVW platform.

The role emphasizes sheet metal, forging, and casting components, with lifecycle management for NPD and modification projects. Responsibilities include CAE DVP alignment, FMEA artifacts, cross-functional clearance processes, and continuous issue resolution across build and test stages.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical and Electronics.
• MS/MTech adds advantage.
• Experience in design for commercial vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of frame, mounting aggregates and engine mounts for commercial vehicle load and bus platform (4T to 55T GVW).
• Design of sheet metal, forging and casting components.
• Handle product lifecycle activities for NPD/modification projects; prepare CAD data proposals and release EBOM/CADBOM.
• Coordinate CAE DVP understanding and target finalization.
• Prepare and validate DVP at vehicle and component level; align with RLDA/ADT/GHD and homologation standards.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues; support ICA & PCA.
• Resolve build and testing issues.
• Create design artifacts like SOR, CIR, DFMEA, DVP, FTR and signoff.
• Interact with cross-functional teams for DFM, DFA, DFS clearances.
• Ideate and implement IMCR activities.
• Consider physical metallurgy and manufacturing processes in design.
• Apply DFMEA, DVP, APQP, G8D problem solving, DFA/DFS, NVH, VA/VE techniques.

1. 1) Design and Development of Frame, Mounting Aggregates & Engine Mounts for Commercial vehicle load & Bus platform (4T to 55T GVW)
2. 2) Design of sheet metal, forging and casting components.
3. 3) Handling product lifecycle activities for NPD/modification projects (Multiple concept CAD data proposal preparation, EBOM CADBOM release activities etc)
4. 4) CAE DVP undestanding and target finalization.
5. 5) Physical validation vehicle level and component level DVP preperation.Good Undestanding of RLDA, ADT,GHD, homologation/CMVR standarts.
6. 6) Current product quality issue RCA,ICA &PCA
7. 7) Resolve build and testing issues
8. 8) Design allied activites like SOR,CIR, DFMEA, DVP, FTR preparation and signoff
9. 9) Interact with CFT for DFM,DFA,DFS clearances
10. 10) Ideation and implementation of IMCR activities
11. 11) Physical Metallurgy & Manufacturing processes,
12. 12) DFMEA, DVP, APQP, G8D problem solving, DFA/DFS, NVH, VA/VE Techniques

Experience

10 to 15 yrs for B.E. Or M.E./M. Tech

Qualifications

B.E / B. Tech Electrical and Electronics engineering; MS/MTech is added advantage
