Job summary

Vedam Design seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of marine/offshore experience. You will lead engineers, plan projects, and oversee 3D FORAN design, piping systems, and compliance with international standards.

You will coordinate with clients weekly, conduct on-site surveys, and ensure design integrity within budgets and schedules for complex offshore projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in marine or offshore projects.
• Proficient in 3D modeling using FORAN.
• Strong piping design and library/catalog knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers assignment and team management.
• Team building and resource allocation per project requirements.
• Prepare 90 days plan for new projects.
• Manhour estimation for future projects.
• On-site surveys for retrofit projects.
• Review 3D models, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
• Coordinate with clients on a weekly basis for project updates.
• Ensure piping work complies with international codes and project specifications.
• Provide piping support during construction, commissioning and start-up.

Job description

• To assign the projects to Lead Engineers.
• Team Building and Management and resource allocation as per the project requirement.
• Preparation of project schedules (90 days plan) for new projects.
• Manhour estimation for future projects.
• Managing daily hurdles with the team
• To overview all design work is safe and compliance with international codes & standards and overall technical integrity of project is maintained as per project specification.
• Overview of 3D design, Support design, Cable tray, HVAC modelling
• To ensure all piping engineering projects assigned to the team is carried out within established budgets and schedules.
• To conduct On-site survey for various retrofit projects.
• To review checklist for various outputs, modelling.
• Coordination with clients on weekly basis for project updation.
• Process improvement performed within the team.
• To review vital 3D-Model, constructability review and value engineering.
• To provide all necessary piping assistance during construction, commissioning and start up phases by resolving piping related site technical queries on immediate basis.
• Support to HR in interviewing process.
• Good knowledge about marine, offshore, and process piping systems.
• Effectively collaborating with classification societies, ensuring compliance with international std and regulations.
• Good knowledge of international codes & standards such as ASME/ ABS/ DNV/ ASTM is essential.

Qualifications –

• B.E/B.Tech Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Marine or offshore field In 3D modeling using FORAN software Equipment Modeling & Layout, Pipe Modeling, Isometrics, Library & catalog update in Foran.
