Job summary

Buoyancy Consultants in Goa is seeking a Design Engineer to work closely with the design team and clients on marine and offshore piping outfitting projects. You will create detailed 3D models and drawings using ShipConstructor or AVEVA Marine, study PFD/P&IDs, and prepare BOMs for production.

You should have 2–4 years of relevant experience, a mechanical engineering background with piping specialization, and be willing to relocate to Goa or travel to client sites domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering with piping specialization.
• Postgraduate qualification in piping is preferred.
• 2-4 years of total work experience in ship outfitting or piping design.

Responsibilities

• Create detail design 3D models and related drawings using Ship Design software like Ship Constructor or equivalent.
• Understand detailed production design for piping outfitting including 3D model.
• Study PFD and P&IDs, procurement specifications, etc.
• Prepare isometrics, arrangement and 3D models for basic, detail and production stages for marine/offshore platforms.
• Know international piping standards and materials for shipbuilding/offshore projects.
• Familiar with API, DIN, ASME, BS/EN standards.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and piping material specifications.
• Prepare bill of materials and weight calculations.
• Understand pipe support/fabrication drawings and piping isometrics.
• Review vendor documents, drawings and datasheets.
• Willing to relocate to client site domestically or internationally on short notice.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned.

As a Design Engineer, you will have to work in close coordination with the design team and client. Your Role and Responsibilities will be:

• Creating detail design 3D model and related drawings using Ship Design software like Ship Constructor or equivalent.
• Understanding of detailed production design for Piping related outfitting including 3D model.
• Understanding and study of PFD, P&ID’s, procurement specification etc.
• Technical knowledge of preparation of isometrics, arrangement, 3D model for basic, detail and production stages for marine / offshore platforms etc.
• Good understanding and knowledge of international piping standards, Piping components and material etc for new building & retrofit projects for Shipbuilding & Offshore Industry.
• Conversant with the Engineering Standards such as API, DIN, ASME, BS / EN etc

Job Requirements

• You are a Diploma or Graduate in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with a Post Graduate qualification in Piping from a recognized institute and have a total work experience of 2-4 years.
• You must have hands‑on experience with 3D ship design software such as ShipConstructor, AVEVA Marine, or similar tools.
• You have worked on detail or basic design projects in area of Ship Outfitting (Piping) design or with shipyard experience.
• You have good communication skills and enjoy helping customers.
• You have minute attention to detail and seek perfection in your work.
• You will be willing to continue to develop your technical knowledge and skills.
• You are ready to serve minimum service commitment of 1 years in our company.
• You are ready to relocate to Goa location.
