Job summary

Navalt Inc. is seeking a Senior Naval Architect in Kerala, India, to lead the vessel design process from concept to detailed engineering. You will ensure compliance with client requirements, classification rules, and statutory regulations while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have a Naval Architecture degree, 3–8 years of experience, and strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, and Maxsurf. You will mentor the design team and manage design changes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Naval Architecture is mandatory.
• 3–8 years of experience in Naval Architecture.
• Proficiency in classification rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's).
• Proficiency in marine design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf or similar.

Responsibilities

The Senior Naval Architect will be responsible for leading the vessel design process from concept development to detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with client requirements, classification rules, and statutory regulations. The role involves design planning, technical coordination, documentation control, project execution support, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, strong knowledge of marine design software and classification standards, and proven experience in managing vessel design projects from concept to commissioning.

• Manage design changes effectively and maintain traceability of all revisions
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning stages
• Resolve design-related issues arising at the site
• Participate in inspections, sea trials, and testing activities as required
• Lead, mentor, and guide the design team
• Allocate resources and assign responsibilities effectively
• Monitor team performance and support skill development initiatives
