Job summary

Zurich Cover-More Group is seeking a data science professional to build, refine, and deploy ML models for predictive analytics and operational optimization. You will explore structured and unstructured data, apply statistical techniques, and develop scalable data workflows with global teams across time zones.

The role requires 3+ years in data science/ML, strong Python/R skills, and proficiency in SQL, with experience in cloud platforms and DevOps tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, CS or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or ML.
• Experience with offshore or distributed teams is a plus.

• You’ll have experience building and interpreting Decision Tree models to identify patterns, support decision-making, and solve business challenges.
• You’ll have experience designing and analysing experiments, including A/B testing, to evaluate outcomes and support data-driven recommendations.

And what are we looking for?

You’llhold aMaster'sdegree (or equivalent) in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

You’llbring 3+ years of industry experience in data science, advanced analytics, and/or machine learning.

You’llhave prior experience working in or alongside offshore, distributed, or globally dispersed teams, which will be considered a strong advantage.

You’lldemonstratestrongproficiencyin Python and/or R, including feature engineering, model training, ad hoc simulations, and reporting.

You’llpossesssolid knowledge of common machine learning algorithms, such as Logistic Regression, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, and Unsupervised Learning techniques.

You’llapply working knowledge of Bayesian statistics, including concepts such as posterior updates and Bayesian networks.

You’llconfidently use SQL databases and structured data files to support analysis, modelling, and reporting activities.

You’llhave experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

You’llbe familiar with code management and DevOps tools, including Git and Docker.

You’llhave experience deploying data science and machine learning solutions into production environments.

You’llbring exposure to architecture design and cross-functional collaboration with IT and engineering teams.

You’llhave experience with parallel computing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar technologies.

You’llbe a self-starter who takes ownership, works proactively, and delivers high-quality results with minimal day-to-day supervision.

You’llcommunicate clearly and proactively, keeping remote stakeholders informed, aligned, and engaged throughout projects.
