Job summary

Embarkgcc Services is seeking a data protection/privacy professional to build strong client relationships and develop policies compliant with Indian privacy laws. The role involves DPIAs, risk assessments, and governance initiatives to ensure robust data protection across client environments.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in data protection, relevant certifications, and strong analytical skills, with a background in law or IT.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance.
• CIPT/CIPM/CIPPE or related certifications preferred.
• Cost Centre/Profit Centre/ Internal Orders / Product Costing knowledge.
• In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, especially India’s PDPA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in law, IT, or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; able to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture positive relationships with teams and clients to exceed expectations.
• Develop data protection policies and procedures per privacy laws for clients.
• Conduct DPIAs, risk assessments, and data governance activities for clients.
• Monitor data processing activities to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Provide guidance on DPIAs, risk assessments, governance and privacy impact assessments.
• Design and implement security/privacy framework and controls for clients.

Your work profile

• you will build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations.
• Develop data protection policies and procedures in accordance with privacy laws and regulations for clients
• Conduct assessments to identify potential data privacy and protection risks and develop mitigation strategies for clients as per their requirements
• Monitor and evaluate data processing activities to ensure compliance with data protection laws and company policies as per client requirement.
• Provide guidance and support to the clients on conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), conducting risk assessments, data governance, application, privacy impact assessments.
• Design and build security / privacy framework, design/re-design processes and privacy controls to ensure framework development for clients

Key skills required:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance
• CIPT/CIPM/CIPPE or any other related certifications preferred
• Controlling Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing,
• In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, particularly the Personal Data Protection Bill in India.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in law, information technology, or a related field
