Job summary

Ascendion is hiring a Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, integrating with Azure SQL and ADLS Gen2. The role emphasizes data quality, validation, and scalable data transformations, with Python scripting and Git version control.

You will collaborate in a fast-paced engineering environment, leveraging modern data tooling and CI/CD practices. Pune/Bangalore on-site with opportunities to learn and grow within a leader in AI-native software engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience building data pipelines with Azure Data Factory and ADF activities.
• Strong Python development skills for data wrangling and tooling.
• Proficient in SQL and data validation techniques, with data quality testing.
• Ability to configure and orchestrate data movement via ADF, ADLS Gen2 and SQL.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Must Have

• Azure Data Factory development
• ADF activities (Copy, Lookup, For Each, Stored Procedure)
• Linked Services, Datasets, and parameterization
• Dynamic expressions in ADF
• Azure SQL and ADLS Gen2
• Python development
• JSON configuration, generation and handling
• Git version control
• Data reconciliation and validation techniques
• Source-to-target validation (row count, control totals, hash comparison)
• Data quality testing

Desired Qualifications (Optional)

Good to Have

• Pentaho KJB/KTR structure understanding
• Azure Key Vault integration
• Self-Hosted Integration Runtime setup
