Job summary

Wishlink, a fast-growing creator-led shopping platform based in Gurugram, India, is seeking a data engineer with 1–2 years of software/data experience. You will write production code alongside engineers, build data pipelines, and work with Spark, PySpark, Databricks, and BigQuery to enable analytics for product and business teams.

You will apply strong SQL and Python skills, work with relational databases, and collaborate on data validation and quality checks to support decision-making.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of software engineering / data experience.
• B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Hands-on SQL (joins, group by, CTEs, window functions).
• Strong programming fundamentals in Python.
• Solid understanding of relational databases.
• Good grounding in Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Write production code alongside engineers in a hands-on role.
• Write SQL and Spark queries to extract, transform, and validate data.
• Assist in building and maintaining reliable data pipelines end to end.
• Learn and work with Spark/PySpark and Databricks as you grow in our Lakehouse stack.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks.
• Support analytics and reporting requirements for product and business teams.
• Monitor scheduled data pipelines and resolve day-to-day issues.
• Collaborate with senior engineers through development, testing, and code reviews.
• Navigate Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Airbyte, and Power BI stack.

What would you be doing?

• Watch Reels and YouTube videos every day & level up on your fashion sense!
• This is a hands-on, build-first role where you'll write production code alongside experienced engineers - not just observe.
• Write SQL and Spark queries to extract, transform, and validate data.
• Assist in building and maintaining reliable data pipelines end to end.
• Learn and work with Spark/PySpark and Databricks as you grow into our Lakehouse stack.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks.
• Support analytics and reporting requirements for product and business teams.
• Monitor scheduled data pipelines and resolve basic day-to-day issues.
• Collaborate with senior engineers through development, testing, and code reviews to absorb engineering best practices.
• Navigate our current stack: Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake (Medallion architecture), BigQuery, Airbyte, and Power BI.

What are we looking for?

• If you are a content creator yourself or have worked closely in the social media space, we like you already :)
• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of software engineering / data experience.
• Hands-on SQL (joins, group by, CTEs, window functions).
• Strong programming fundamentals in Python.
• Solid understanding of relational databases.
• Good grounding in Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

• Basic Spark or PySpark knowledge.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing or Databricks.
• Exposure to Git and version control.
• Basic cloud knowledge (AWS/GCP).
• Personal or academic projects involving SQL, Python, or data analytics.
