Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer in India to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The role emphasizes hands-on cloud data platform work, AI-assisted coding, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and data modeling skills, production-grade ELT experience, and experience with AI coding assistants to improve development productivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
• Minimum 2+ years with Snowflake and dbt Cloud.
• Production-grade ELT pipelines experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Configure and manage data ingestion using Fivetran.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, documentation, and deployment workflows.
• Design data models and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data contracts.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and be comfortable leveraging AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Configure and manage data ingestion using Fivetran.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, documentation, and deployment workflows.
• Design data models and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data contracts.
• Use AI-powered coding assistants to automate development and documentation tasks.
• Review, validate, and deploy AI-generated code.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

Required Skills
