Job summary

NOVAC is seeking Data Centre Operations & Technical Support Engineers in Chennai region. Freshers with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply. You will monitor data centre infrastructure, servers, storage, virtualization, OS, and network components to ensure high availability of IT services.

The role involves Level 1 support, incident tracking, backups, and collaboration with internal teams and vendors. 24/7 rotational shifts are required and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, electronics, or related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in Data Centre Operations, Infrastructure Support, or Technical Support.
• Freshers with relevant academic projects or internship experience are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and network devices.
• Perform routine health checks and preventive maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Provide Level 1 technical support and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Monitor backup jobs and assist with backup and recovery operations.
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
• Support rack installation, cabling, hardware replacement, and system upgrades.

Job Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and technically inclined candidates to join our Infrastructure Operations team as Data Centre Operations & Technical Support Engineers. The role involves monitoring and supporting data centre infrastructure, servers, storage, virtualization, operating systems, and network components while ensuring high availability of IT services. Freshers with strong technical fundamentals and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and network devices.
• Perform routine health checks and preventive maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Provide Level 1 technical support and escalated complex issues when required.
• Monitor backup jobs and assist with backup and recovery operations.
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
• Support rack installation, cabling, hardware replacement, and system upgrades.
• Record and track incidents using ITSM or ticketing tools.
• Maintain technical documentation, asset records, and operational reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors during maintenance and infrastructure activities.
• Follow organizational security, compliance, and operational procedures.
• Work in a 247 rotational shift environment.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in Data Centre Operations, Infrastructure Support, or Technical Support.
• Freshers with relevant academic projects or internship experience are welcome to apply.

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of server hardware, storage concepts (RAID, SAN/NAS), and virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V).
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN).
• Familiarity with backup solutions and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Understanding of ITSM/ticketing tools is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of SQL/MySQL, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is desirable.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a team environment.
