Job summary

Forward Eye Technologies is seeking a Wintel System Engineer to oversee Windows Server administration and data centre operations, including VM creation, OS installation, patching, and log analysis.

You will work across virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and Nutanix AHV, manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and backup strategies with Commvault, ensuring high availability and performance in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/IT or equivalent.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in Windows (Wintel) Administration.
• Strong experience in Windows deployment and Data Centre Operations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and system platform knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and IIS; patching and hardening.
• Handle data centre ops: VM creation, OS installation, server config.
• Manage virtualization with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Nutanix AHV.
• Monitor server health, incidents, and root-cause analysis.
• Support backup/recovery with Commvault.
• Coordinate with networks/storage/backup/app teams during incidents.
• Document SOPs and build/operational procedures.

Role Summary

Wintel System Engineer responsible for Windows Server Administration and Data Centre Operations including VM creation, OS installation, VM configuration, patch management, troubleshooting, and log analysis. A Data Centre Support Engineer with strong expertise in managing and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure across Windows Server platforms, virtualization environments, and enterprise backup solutions. Experienced in ensuring high availability, performance optimization, system security, and operational stability within mission‑critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments:
  • Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022)
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS
  • System hardening, patch management, performance tuning, and log analysis
• Data Centre operational activities such as VM creation, OS installation, and server configuration.
• Hands‑on experience in managing virtualised environments using:
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Nutanix AHV
  • User and group administration, file system management, permissions, and IP configuration
• Monitoring server health, handling incidents, and performing root‑cause analysis.
• Implementation and support of enterprise backup and recovery strategies using Commvault.
• Troubleshooting Windows services, event logs, performance bottlenecks, and resource utilisation.
• Coordination with network, storage, backup and application teams during incidents and deployments.
• Documentation of SOPs, build documents and operational procedures.

• Platform support and deployment experience.
• Good troubleshooting acumen and log analysis skills.
• Linux hands‑on: Good Linux hands‑on, package managers (Satellite, RIDM, SUSE Manager).
• KVM, VMware, Nutanix.
• Deployment experience, troubleshooting acumen.

Desirable Skills

• Basic PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Understanding of security hardening and audit compliance.
