Job summary

Lonza is seeking a Manager, Supply Chain Value & Insights in Hyderabad for a 1-year contract (extendable). The role sits at the crossroads of supply chain operations, leadership, and IT, building data infrastructure, automation-first tools, and predictive models to empower global networks.

You will consolidate data, create interactive dashboards in Power BI, and develop data pipelines using SQL, Python, and R across SAP ERP/BW.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering/Statistics.
• 5–10 years in advanced BI, data modeling, or data science analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or R; experience with Power BI dashboards.
• Experience extracting data from SAP ERP/BW.
• Fluent English with ability to explain stats to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate Global Supply Chain data for end-to-end transparency; build dashboards in Power BI.
• Write data pipelines using SQL, Python, and R across cloud environments and SAP BW.
• Identify use cases and implement AI, ML, and automation tools.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions; train for system adoption.
• Design SOPs and QA workflows to eliminate reporting waste.

Lonza is seeking a Manager, Supply Chain Value & Insights to serve as the digital engine driving our Global Supply Chain function. Sitting at the intersection of Supply Chain Operations, Corporate Leadership, and IT, you will build the next generation of data infrastructure, automation-first tools, and predictive models that empower our global networks to operate at a world-class level.

What You'll Do (Key Accountabilities)

• Advanced Analytics & Visualization: Consolidate Global Supply Chain data to bring end-to-end transparency to demand forecasting, logistics, and warehouse management. Build, scale, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI.
• Data Engineering & Modeling: Write custom scripts and execute data pipelines utilizing SQL, Python, and R across cloud environments and enterprise infrastructures (SAP ERP/BW).
• Next-Gen Innovation: Scout the market for emerging digital capabilities. Identify use cases and implement advanced tools across our operating model, integrating Predictive Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, and automation tools.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as "The Translator" - gathering complex business requirements from supply chain leaders and turning them into fit-for-purpose technical solutions, while running department-wide training for system adoption.
• Process Optimization: Identify structural bottlenecks, clean up legacy data pipelines, design rigorous testing/QA workflows, and draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) to continually eliminate reporting waste.

Who You Are (Must-Have Qualifications)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of professional track record in advanced business intelligence, data modeling, or data science analytics.
• The Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or R, alongside extensive hands-on experience building semantic models and dashboards inside Power BI.
• System Fluency: Strong familiarity extracting data out of enterprise ERP systems, specifically SAP (ERP, BW).
• Communication: Business-fluent English skills with an innate ability to explain complex statistical models to non-technical stakeholders.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Good-to-Have)

• Direct analytical experience within the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Global Supply Chain/Logistics industries.
• Hands-on experience deploying time-series forecasting models or Machine Learning algorithms in production corporate environments.
• Familiarity with tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Alteryx, SAS, or SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Professional proficiency in German or French.
