Job summary

GE Healthcare is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site life extension, repairs and inspection-related activities for installed fleets, including supervision for construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment at customer sites.

The role requires 3+ years in Field Services and mandatory cyclotron equipment experience, with a degree comparable to a Bachelor's or a high school diploma with relevant experience. Strong communication with customers is essential.

Responsibilities

• Onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, generator diagnostics; ability to make engineering decisions.
• Develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE; explains technical information to others.
• Broadens knowledge of technical discipline to execute policy/strategy and may include support roles with specialized field knowledge.

All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for:

• All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities for installed fleets and supervision for construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment, able to be performed at customer site. Includes onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, generator diagnostics. Able to make Engineering decisions.
• Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Having autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
• Developings strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
