Role Summary

Manage end-to-end crewing operations, including sourcing, deployment, and administration of crew, ensuring efficient vessel manning, regulatory compliance, cost control, and effective stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Manage sourcing and selection of suitable crew (Ratings and Officers) to meet operational requirements
  • Plan and execute crew deployment, including placement, rotation, and timely sign‑on/off arrangements
  • Maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date crew database, including crew on board, on leave and availability status
  • Conduct initial screening and verification of crew documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including arranging interviews and supporting selection decisions
  • Liaise with owners, managers, directors, manning agents, vessels, and port agents on crew matters and operations
  • Oversee execution of crew changes to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruption
  • Monitor airfare and crew change costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets
  • Manage relationships with agents and review or negotiate crew change proformas where required
  • Handle union matters and crew‑related issues, including resolution and escalation where necessary
  • Support overall crewing operations, including deputising duties and ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by management
Skills Capabilities & Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Maritime Studies, Shipping, HR, or related discipline
  • Relevant experience in crewing, marine personnel, or ship management
  • Knowledge of crew documentation (CDC, COC, STCW and related certifications)
  • Familiarity with DG Shipping and flag state requirements
  • Understanding of crew planning and vessel operations
