Job summary

Micro Supreme Auto Industries is seeking a cost analyst to drive cost estimation for new product development. You will build and maintain cost models, perform cost comparisons, and identify savings opportunities in collaboration with engineering and production teams.

The role involves analyzing materials, labour, overhead, and processes to achieve target costs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and accurate reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machining costs and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of calculating raw material, cycle time and machine hour rate (MHR) to develop target costs.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost estimates for new product development.
• Analyze and estimate costs of company products including materials, labour, overhead.
• Develop and maintain cost models for various new products.
• Conduct cost comparisons and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to identify cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Recommend process changes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

• Ensure cost considerations are integrated into the design phase.

Role & responsibilities

Provide cost estimates for new product development.

Analyse and estimate the costs of company product, including materials, labour, overhead, and other related expenses.

Develop and maintain cost models for various new products.

Conduct cost comparisons and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand manufacturing processes and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Recommend process changes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management.

Monitor actual costs versus budgeted costs and analyze variances.

Collaborate with the design and development teams to ensure cost considerations are integrated into the design phase.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in cost estimation and reporting.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cost analysis and estimation

Preferred candidate profile

• Knowledge of machining processes: CNC/VMC, grinding, fabrication (swaging, CNC bending), heat treatment etc.
• Able to read and understand Engineering drawings along with technical specifications.
• Knowledge of calculating raw material, MHR (machine hour rate), cycle time, etc. to develop target cost
