Job summary

Technofab Industries in Pune seeks a Costing Engineer to study drawings, prepare costings for sheet metal fabrication, and coordinate with Purchase to get material rates. You'll create costing sheets in Excel/ERP and support sales in quotations.

The ideal candidate understands laser cutting, bending, welding, grinding and polishing, with strong MS Excel skills and basic AutoCAD knowledge.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication (SS, MS).
• Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, grinding and polishing processes.
• Basic understanding of material weight and costing calculations.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Study customer drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Prepare costing for SS, MS, aluminium, and fabricated components.
• Calculate material quantity, weight, and material cost.
• Estimate costs for laser cutting, bending, welding, grinding, polishing, and other fabrication processes.
• Calculate labour, machine, consumable, and subcontracting costs.
• Coordinate with Purchase for current material and vendor rates.
• Prepare and maintain costing sheets in Excel/ERP.
• Support the Sales team in quotation preparation.
• Revise costing based on changes in drawings, quantity, material, or process.
• Maintain records of previous costing for future reference.
• Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchase, Quality, and Sales teams.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
