Job summary

THE Talent Keepers in Hyderabad, India is seeking an experienced MEP Cost Controller/Cost Engineer to manage cost planning, budgeting, and reporting for data centre projects.

You will prepare BOQs, estimates and tender docs, track costs, review IPCs, and coordinate with design/procurement teams to drive cost savings and commercial closure.

The role requires close attention to contract compliance, progress measurement, and delivering monthly cost dashboards and MIS.

Responsibilities

• Manage MEP cost planning, budgeting, and cost control for data centre projects.
• Prepare and review BOQ, estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation for MEP packages.
• Control project costs against approved budget, BOQ, and contract values.
• Review contractor/subcontractor quotations, rate analysis, and commercial proposals.
• Manage variations, change orders, claims, and cost impact assessments.
• Track committed cost, actual expenditure, forecast, and cash flow.
• Review and certify interim payment applications (IPC) based on actual site progress.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and measurement verification for MEP works.
• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Project, QS, and Commercial teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, commercial dashboards, and management MIS.
• Monitor procurement costs for major MEP systems such as HVAC, Electrical, ELV, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, BMS, UPS, DG, and HT/LT systems.
• Support final account settlement and ensure commercial closure of MEP packages.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, approved drawings, and project standards
