Job summary

Hill International, Inc. in Gurugram is seeking a Mechanical Engineering graduate to undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing and HVAC works on building projects.

You will use CostX and AutoCAD to quantify, prepare BOQs, assist cost estimation, and support tendering, cost reporting, and change control with strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Familiarity with quantity surveying concepts and cost control.
• Ability to learn and adapt to specialized software.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, and HVAC works.
• Use CostX and AutoCAD to quantify, summarize quantities, and export BOQs.
• Draft or validate Bills of Quantities and perform bulk checks.
• Assist cost estimation by identifying material and labour rates.
• Gain understanding of tendering processes and documentation.
• Prepare interim payment recommendations and maintain cost-control records.
• Support cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, and valuation of variations.
• Apply construction tech knowledge in cost planning tasks.
• Assess cost implications of materials, labour and methods during design and execution.
• Proficient in CAD, Cost-X, and other quantification/estimation software.
• Strong MS Excel and Word skills; learn and adapt to customized software.

Undertake quantity works for Building projects - Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Hospital, Fitout, Industry / warehouse (depending on project requirement)

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC works using applicable standards.
• Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans including carrying out bulk checks.
• Draft or Validate Bills of Quantities including carrying out bulk checks.
• Support cost estimation activities by identifying basic material and labour rates and understanding rate analysis for standard work items.
• Having basic understanding on tendering process and documentation.
• Prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, and manage change control processes.
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, valuation of variations, tracking of risk allowances, and preparation of final accounts.
• Apply working knowledge of construction technologies and methods in cost planning tasks.
• Assess cost implications of materials, labour and construction methods during design and execution stages.
• Should be good in CAD, Cost-X (qty take off tools) and other quantification / estimation software.
• Good skills on MS excel and word and ability to learn and adapt to customized software.
