Job summary

Infosys is seeking a seasoned cost engineering professional to drive PCBA cost modelling and should-cost analyses across electromechanical products. You will develop detailed PCBA cost models, assess fabrication, components and assembly costs, and track cost drivers through design and production stages.

The role requires a strong background in electronics hardware design, regulatory standards, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver savings and scalable cost models across industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
• 8 to 15+ years of experience in Should Costing and Value Engineering for electronics hardware.
• Exposure to automotive, Avionics, industrial, consumer, networking, or IoT electronics.
• Strong understanding of hardware products design (schematics, BOMs, component selection).
• Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements impacting PCBA cost (IPC, ISO, automotive standards).
• Demonstrated track record of achieving measurable cost savings through engineering and sourcing strategies.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity working on costing tools, Hand calculations etc..

Responsibilities

• Experience in Product Teardown Should-cost analysis for electromechanical products.
• Developing detailed PCBA cost models covering PCB fabrication, component costing, and assembly processes.
• Analyze cost drivers such as component selection, yield, takt time, panel utilization, and logistics.
• Track cost evolution across revisions and lifecycle changes.
• Guide design-to-cost and value engineering initiatives.
• Analyze schematics, BOMs, Gerbers, and assembly drawings from a cost perspective.
• Monitor market trends, technology shifts, and cost fluctuations in electronics manufacturing.
• Prepare and present cost analysis reports and cost breakdowns to stakeholders.

Job DescriptionSeeking a skilled professional with experience in PCBA Costing involving Product Teardown, Should Costing, VAVE, benchmarking and cost optimization initiatives across product lifecycle stages for electromechanical products across various industry segments. This role requires deep expertise in electronics hardware design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain cost drivers to deliver accurate, competitive, and scalable cost models

Roles & Responsibilities

• Experience in Product Teardown Should-cost analysis for electromechanical products.
• Experience in developing detailed PCBA cost models covering:
  • o PCB fabrication (layer stack-up, materials, finishes, panelization)
  • o Component costing (passives, actives, ICs, connectors, custom parts
  • o Assembly processes (SMT, THT, mixed-tech, testing, rework)
  • o Cost estimation knowledge during concept, design, prototype, pilot, and mass-production phases.
  • o Analyze cost drivers such as component selection, yield, takt time, panel utilization, and logistics.
  • o Track cost evolution across revisions, ECNs, and lifecycle changes.
• Guide design-to-cost and value engineering initiatives
• Analyze schematics, BOMs, Gerbers, and assembly drawings from a cost perspective.
• Monitor market trends, technology shifts, and cost fluctuations in electronics manufacturing.
• Maintain a repository of costing methodologies, assumptions, and historical cost-saving case studies.
• Prepare and present cost analysis reports, value engineering proposals, and cost breakdowns to the stakeholders. Additional ResponsibilityBachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
