Qualificações

• Bachelor's in Mechanical/Industrial Eng or related field.
• Associate in QA or related field is acceptable if coupled with experience.
• CQE certification or equivalent preferred.

Description :

• Oversee daily operations of the machining quality assurance department, ensuring adherence to automotive industry standards for steel components and precision machining.
• Lead a team of Quality Assurance Technicians and Inspectors to achieve production targets and maintain the highest quality levels in fine blanking and CNC machining processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control procedures and defect reduction strategies within the machining and component manufacturing environment.
• Act as a key point of contact for quality-related issues, collaborating with production, engineering, and management to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Responsibilities :

• Supervise and guide the daily activities of Quality Assurance technicians and inspectors in the machining department.
• Ensure all manufactured steel components meet stringent quality specifications and customer requirements.
• Implement and monitor SPC charts for critical machining processes to maintain process capability.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of machining operations, including fine blanking and CNC machining
• Manage non-conforming material processes, including identification, segregation, and disposition
• Investigate quality deviations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and documentation.
• Train QA personnel on inspection procedures, equipment operation, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues affecting quality.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of all inspection and testing equipment.
• Monitor key quality metrics (e.g., PPM, scrap rate, first-pass yield) and report on performance.
• Participate in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and other relevant automotive quality standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the machining and quality assurance functions.
• Conduct internal audits of the machining quality processes and systems.
• Manage shift-based quality control activities, ensuring seamless handover and communication
• Provide technical support and guidance to the production team on quality-related matters.
• Analyze customer feedback and complaints related to machined components and implement necessary improvements.

Technical Skills :

• Quality Management Systems (QMS) - In-depth knowledge and practical application of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and relevant quality standards for automotive steel components manufacturing.
• Machining Processes - Strong understanding of fine blanking, CNC machining (milling, turning), and associated metrology techniques for precision steel components.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) - Proficiency in using SPC tools and techniques to monitor, control, and improve manufacturing processes, analyze data, and identify trends.
• Measurement and Inspection Techniques - Expertise in operating and calibrating various metrology equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and vision systems.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) - Skilled in conducting thorough RCA using methodologies like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and 8D reports to resolve quality issues.
• Blueprint Reading and GD&T - Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, and verify component conformance.
• Quality Auditing - Experience in conducting internal quality audits, preparing for external audits, and ensuring compliance with all quality regulations and customer specifications.
• Data Analysis and Reporting - Proficiency in analyzing quality data, generating comprehensive reports, and presenting findings to management and cross-functional teams.
• Tooling and Fixturing Knowledge - Basic understanding of tooling, fixtures, and their impact on machining quality for steel components.

Soft Skills :

• Communication - Effectively communicate quality standards, inspection results, and improvement initiatives to team members, production staff, and management through verbal and written channels.
• Problem-Solving - Analyze root causes of quality defects in machined steel components and develop data-driven solutions to prevent recurrence, utilizing methodologies like 8D and Ishikawa diagrams.
