Job summary

Echjay Forgings Pvt. Ltd. in Rajkot seeks a Deputy General Manager Quality (DGM Quality) to oversee QA/QC for forging, heat treatment, gear manufacturing and precision machining.

You will lead a large quality team, drive reductions in defects and warranty claims, and ensure adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards. Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial or related engineering discipline.
• Typically, 20+ years of experience in automotive component manufacturing and quality management.
• Strong experience in forging, heat treatment, gear manufacturing, and precision machining.
• Proven experience handling automotive OEMs and Tier-1 customers, quality audits and customer complaints.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall quality operations across forging, heat treatment, machining, incoming inspection, final inspection and customer quality.
• Drive reduction in customer PPM, internal rejection, rework, scrap, warranty claims, and COPQ.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements and applicable standards.
• Implement and monitor APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA and other automotive core quality tools.
• Establish process controls for critical quality characteristics in forging, heat treatment, gear manufacturing and precision machining.
• Lead customer complaints, root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures using 8D and other problem-solving tools.
• Manage customer and supplier quality, audits, product approvals and quality escalations.
• Ensure effective calibration, measurement systems, inspection standards and product traceability.
• Drive continuous improvement, process capability, defect prevention, automation and quality cost reduction.
• Lead and develop the Quality team (Team Strength 200+) and coordinate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Purchase, and R&D.
• Prepare quality dashboards and review performance against established targets with management.
