Breakthrough is seeking a dynamic Coordinator – Community Development to implement the Adolescent Rights and Empowerment program in schools and communities in the district. The role collaborates with the District Manager to advance Breakthrough’s transformation model and foster gender equality, rights, and youth leadership.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with adolescent programs, strong facilitation skills, and a track record of community mobilisation.
Breakthrough is looking for dynamic, result-oriented Coordinator – Community Development, who would be working closely with District Manager/Supervisor (Implementation) and lead the implementation of the Adolescent Rights and Empowerment program in the assigned schools and nearby communities of district/intervention area, in accordance with the Breakthrough’s Deep Transformation Strategy/Model.
The work will focus on empowering adolescents to question harmful gender-norms. Reduce discrimination and prevent violence. This role needs someone with real grassroots experience working with adolescents and youth on aspirations, gender equality and rights.
Breakthrough works on culture change by shifting social norms that limit women and girls from reaching their full potential. We work with adolescents and young people aged 11-25 years aiming for an entire generation to shift and push for change. Over time, we have worked with more than5.4millionadolescents and young people, aged 11 to 25, to encourage aspiration, agency, leadership and negotiation through our work in schools and communities. We also support them withmedia tools that shape public narratives. This has resulted in a generation of young people shifting to think and act in confident, intentional ways. Girls are negotiating to stay in school, delaying marriage, exercising choices around life goals, stepping into non-traditional career paths. Boys are stepping up to contribute, support and uphold equal rights for all. This gives hope that a more equal world is possible for future generations.
