Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) is India's leading independent child rights organisation. It is a member of the Save the Children movement with a global mission to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and achieve immediate and lasting changes in their lives. We work towards three breakthroughs by 2030: no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday, all children learn from a quality basic education, and violence against children is no longer tolerated. We run programmes in remote and urban areas in Health & Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and Livelihood & Economic Wellbeing to facilitate quality education, healthcare, protection from harm and abuse, and life‑saving aid during emergencies to children.

Role Purpose

The community mobiliser will engage with community members, identify vulnerable households and girls, facilitate awareness activities, and ensure effective implementation of project interventions at the community level. The role focuses on building trust and strengthening community participation in project activities.

Scope of Role

The person will be responsible for mobilization of project stakeholders—including girls, families, community members, and other relevant stakeholders—and for conducting planned activities.

Key Areas of Accountability
  • Conduct regular field visits to identify and engage with girls, adolescents, young women, families and key stakeholders
  • Mobilize community members to participate in project activities, trainings, and events
  • Facilitate meetings with community groups, parents, and local leaders
  • Enroll girls, adolescents and women (aged 3‑20 years) in GRC
  • Ensure the safety of young girls while they attend centre and return home
  • Ensure implementation of planned activities and community level engagements as per plan
  • Mobilize and facilitate stakeholder engagement during planning, development meetings and workshops
  • Identify local level partners and facilitate partnership for implementation
  • Support collection and documentation of impact and success stories on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Document success stories, field observations, challenges, best practices and share with line manager
  • Assist in collection and submission of all MIS related information and data, maintaining records of community visits, household data and enrolments
  • Conduct sessions on menstrual hygiene, child rights, cyber security, climate change, facilitate enrolment of eligible young girls in Vocational Training institutes, distribute education to girls (3‑14 years) and menstrual hygiene kits to adolescent girls and young women
  • Coordinate with schools and facilitate transition of children from centre to school
  • Submit monthly progress report to line manager
  • Achieve desired mobilization targets
  • Carry out any other task assigned by line manager

Qualifications

12th pass or Graduate in social work or any other discipline from a recognized university or school.

Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in the development sector, working with children, youth, AWCs, schools, community or government stakeholders.
  • Experience working in urban poor settlements and JJ clusters.
