Job summary

Global Connect Solutions is seeking an Engineer - Controls Engineering to lead panel design and PLC/DCS integration for gas-steam turbine and motor-driven projects. You will develop control panels, define BOMs, and create detailed drawings and wiring diagrams while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC/DCS systems and control products.

  • Design and develop unit control panels per customer specs and guidelines.
  • Prepare BOMs and purchase specs for control panels and components.
  • Create basic and detailed engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Develop I/O lists, function descriptions, Cause-and-effect diagrams, P&IDs.
  • Produce wiring diagrams and panel construction drawings for delivery.
  • Coordinate with sourcing for technical alignment and POs.
  • Conduct project reviews and mitigation planning for timely delivery.
  • Assist in software validation and FAT at supplier sites.

Job description

As a Engineer - Controls Engineering, you will be responsible for:

PLC/DCS:

  • Applying engineering concepts on multiple Gas‑Steam Turbine / motor‑driven projects associated with control products & engineering drawings throughout the project lifecycle with a cost optimization mindset and support engineering functions.
  • Identify risks and make mitigation plans. Should be able to work with and within cross‑functional and cross‑discipline teams.
  • Designing Unit control panel in accordance with customer specifications agreed deviations, country regulations & internal design guidelines, support others with both business and technical mentoring/coaching.
  • Selecting BOM (Bill of Material) for PLC & other components of the control panel complying with project needs.
  • Producing purchase specifications for control panel & associated components, engaging with Material and engineering suppliers for technical alignments & ensuring delivery plan consistency as per project schedule.
  • Preparing basic engineering drawings such as Control Panel Layout (dimensional) drawing / Network Architecture drawing and power Supply Scheme.
  • Developing detailed engineering drawings such as I/O List, Functional Description, Cause and effect, Functional Specifications and logic diagrams as per project P&ID, field wiring diagrams and Instrument data sheets.
  • Ensuring control panel‑related drawings such as Control Panel Wiring diagrams and control Panel Construction Drawings are made, reviewed and delivered to customers as per project needs. Also ensuring cable schedule and interconnecting Wiring diagram in line with panel drawings.
  • Preparing control valve & flow element data sheets as per project piping, process & customer specifications and then supporting Sourcing for technical alignment and PO placement.
  • Conducting regular project reviews to evaluate risks associated with the project and come up with a mitigation plan respecting quality & timely delivery of the panel.
  • Supporting software validation & FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) with customers at panel manufacturer workshop & ensuring customer satisfaction on technical capability & responsiveness.
