Quest Global is a leading engineering services firm with deep domain knowledge and recognized expertise in top OEMs across seven industry sectors.
What You Will Do
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Panel Engineer with strong expertise in DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and Balance of Plant (BOP) cabinet engineering for power plant applications. The role will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and technical support of packaged systems (e.g., control panels, electrical systems), including architecture, internal components, power distribution, and wiring, specifically tailored for DCS/BOP integration with plant control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design and Architecture: Lead the design of complete packaged systems, including overall cabinet layout, internal components, power distribution, and system architecture. Ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Select appropriate components (e.g., DCS controller, I/O cards) based on system requirements and integrate these components to ensure optimal performance and seamless communication across the system.
- Control Systems Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC) to ensure proper integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of control devices within the system.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the system design aligns with all aspects of the project. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design, testing, and installation phases.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive system design documents, schematics, and manuals. Ensure that all designs comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
- Support: Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and internal disciplines. Provide technical sales support for the generation of customer proposals. Offer engineering support during assembly of control panels for troubleshooting and modifications.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing and integrating control systems, focusing on DCS/PLC platforms and BOP cabinet systems, including upgrading complex control systems and managing cabinet system architectures with minimal downtime.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of DCS/PLC control systems.
- Familiarity with safety-critical system integration.
- Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with PLM tools and proficiency in solid modeling and 2-dimensional CAD tools (e.g., Creo, AutoCAD Mechanical & Electrical).
- Familiarity with industrial automation standards and safety regulations (IEC, ISO).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and deadline-meeting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with gas, steam, or combined-cycle power plants.
- Knowledge of redundancy concepts, safety systems, and interlocks.
- Exposure to international projects and multicultural engineering teams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
