Job summary

Larsen & Toubro invites an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our Surat-based team. You will lead engineering, design basis, and data sheets for field instruments, I/O mapping, and control loop diagrams for turbine control systems, TPS, and associated SCADA graphics, ensuring robust commissioning readiness.

You will prepare and review PLC architecture, cable schedules, and junction box layouts, coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams, conduct FAT/SAT, and support site

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of engg and site commissioning of Control & Instrumentation packages (TCS, TPS, TSI) and Data Acquisition System.
• Prepare and review of P&ID diagrams.
• Prepare data sheets for field instruments, special instruments, JB, cable trays, instrument fittings, etc.
• Prepare instrument index, I/O list, cable schedule, junction box schedule, wiring diagrams, termination diagrams, instrument hookup drawings.
• Design basis and control philosophy for instrumentation process systems and skid packages.
• Review vendor documents: instrument datasheets, panel wiring, GA drawings, power calculations, earthing.
• Prepare PLC architecture, I/O mapping, panel wiring GA, HMI and SCADA graphics.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Process, Civil for instrumentation interfaces.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, consultants.
• Control and protection logic for steam turbine.
• Conduct Factory acceptance test.
• Conduct Site acceptance test.
• Site support during instrument installation, DDCMIS (TCS, TPS) commissioning, TSI system commissioning, unit startup, overhauling.
• Willing to travel as required (~40%).

Job description

• Knowledge of Engineering and Site commissioning of Control & Instrumentation Packages like Turbine Control System (TCS) and Turbine Protection System (TPS), Turbine Supervisory Instrument (TSI) System, Data Acquisition System, Pneumatic control valves, Field instruments, LIE/LIR, Instrument hook ups, Cables, PG Test Monitoring System etc.
• Preparation and review of P&ID diagram.
• Preparation of data sheet for Field instruments, Special instruments, JB, Cable trays, Instrument fitting etc.
• Preparation of instrument index, I/O list, Cable schedule, Junction box schedule, Wiring diagram, Termination Diagram, Instrument hookup drawing, Instrument location drawing, Earthing layout, Control schematic diagram and loop diagram, Instrument installation diagram.
• Preparation of design basis and control philosophy for various instrumentation process system and packages/skids.
• Review and preparation of material requisition/RFQ, vendor offer evaluation, technical bid analysis.
• Review of vendor document such as instrument datasheet, Panel wiring, Panel GA drawing, Power calculation, Earthing drawing.
• Preparation and review of PLC Architecture, I/O mapping, review of PLC panel wiring and GA drawing and HMI and SCADA graphics.
• Coordination with inner discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Process and Civil for instrumentation interfaces.
• Coordination with external stake holders such as vendor, clients and consultants.
• Control and Protection logic for steam turbine.
• Conducting Factory acceptance test.
• Conducting Site acceptance test.
• Site support during instrument installation, DDCMIS (TCS, TPS) commissioning, TSI system commissioning, unit startup, Overhauling.
• Willing to travel as required for job responsibilities (travelling around 40% approx.).
