Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to review inputs, verify designs, and prepare instrument datasheets and I/O lists. You will work with P&ID, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and PLC layouts to ensure safe, compliant plant design.

Candidates should be proficient in AutoCAD and Intools, capable of sizing control valves, PSV, and flow meters, and experienced in specifying field instruments. Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Review inputs as per project requirements.
• Apply CSA, API, ANSI and ISA standards.
• P&ID review with process and piping teams.
• Prepare Instrument Index and I/O list.
• Prepare datasheet and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare Loop diagrams and Cable Schedules.
• Knowledge of MCCs, PLC panels and motors.

Responsibilities

• Review inputs and verify against project requirements.
• Mentor junior executors and provide training where needed.
• Interface with other disciplines to ensure coordinated design.

• P&ID review with process team & Piping Team, updating necessary changes.
• Review vendor and existing drawings for design compliance.
• Preparation of Instrument Index and Instrument I/O list.

• Preparation of FJB interconnection wiring diagram.
• Preparation of Loop diagram.
• Preparation of Cable Schedule.
• Preparation of Instrument Location Plan.
• Preparation of Cable & Conduit tray routing.
• Preparation of Instrument Hookup drawings.
• Preparation of MTO.
• Preparation Power Distribution.
• Preparation of PLC layout & IO Schedule.
• Preparation of Cause & Effect Diagram.
• Knowledge of various electrical components including MCCs, PLC equipment panels and motors.
• Orifice Venturi, Control valve and Flow nozzle sizing calculations
• Monitor/supervise the work of junior executors and assist with mentorship and training.
• Prepare engineering QC document as per company and client standards.
• Knowledge on technical reasoning, analytical and monitoring skills
• Assist in selection of discipline personnel assigned to projects.
• Interface with the other engineering disciplines to ensure a coordinated design and that project engineering deliverables are completed.
• Provide and demonstrate leadership in accordance with Environment Health and Safety program to establishing a strong safety culture within the organization and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

• Specify and purchase field instruments including electronic and pneumatic transmitters, switches, meter-runs, analyzers, control valves and ESD valves.
• Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials, and the economics involved.
