Job Description

Consultant - Rheumatology is responsible for diagnosing and managing patients with rheumatological, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders. The includes clinical evaluation, laboratory and imaging review, treatment planning, management of acute and chronic conditions, patient counselling, follow-up, and coordination with other medical specialties to provide comprehensive and continuous care.

• Evaluate patients with rheumatological and autoimmune conditions.
• Obtain relevant medical and treatment histories.
• Perform appropriate musculoskeletal and systemic examinations.
• Review autoimmune tests, inflammatory markers, imaging, and other investigations.
• Diagnose and manage inflammatory and degenerative rheumatological conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans.
• Monitor disease activity and response to therapy.
• Manage acute flare-ups and rheumatological complications.
• Coordinate with orthopaedics, nephrology, dermatology, pulmonology, and other specialties.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient, referral, and follow-up consultations.
• Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, medication, lifestyle, and disease management.
• Monitor treatment-related adverse effects and relevant clinical parameters.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation.
• Coordinate specialist referrals and required investigations.
• Participate in clinical rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Support rehabilitation and physiotherapy planning where required.
