Job Description

Consultant - Neurology is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with neurological and neuromuscular disorders. The includes neurological examination, investigation review, treatment planning, management of acute and chronic neurological conditions, emergency care, patient counselling, follow-up, and coordination with neurosurgery, critical care, rehabilitation, nursing, and other multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Evaluate patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
• Obtain detailed medical and neurological histories.
• Perform appropriate neurological examinations.
• Review MRI, CT, EEG, laboratory, and other diagnostic reports.
• Diagnose and manage common and complex neurological disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Manage stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuropathies, and related conditions.
• Respond to neurological emergencies and provide timely intervention.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify management plans.
• Coordinate specialized investigations and procedures as required.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient, referral, and follow-up consultations.Coordinate care with neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, rehabilitation teams, and critical care staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress records.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Support discharge planning and continuity of neurological care.
