Job Description

Consultant - Cardiology is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with cardiovascular diseases through appropriate medical and procedural care. The includes cardiac assessment, review of investigations, treatment planning, management of acute cardiac conditions, procedural support within professional scope, patient counselling, follow-up, and coordination with cath lab, ICU, nursing, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Evaluate patients with cardiovascular and cardiac-related conditions.
• Obtain detailed medical history and perform cardiovascular examinations.
• Review ECG, echocardiography, laboratory, imaging, and other cardiac investigations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
• Develop individualized medical and treatment plans.
• Manage coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and related conditions.
• Perform or assist with cardiac procedures within professional scope.
• Manage cardiac emergencies and provide timely stabilization.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify management plans when required.
• Coordinate diagnostic and interventional procedures with the cardiac team.
• Collaborate with cath lab, ICU, nursing, radiology, and laboratory teams.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient, referral, and follow-up consultations.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, risk factors, and follow-up.
• Maintain complete and accurate clinical and procedural documentation.
• Support pre-procedure and post-procedure patient management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiac case discussions and clinical rounds.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical protocols.
