Responsibilities

• Support the commercial due diligence of a retail target, assessing market position, customer proposition, and the sustainability of historical performance
• Size and analyse the addressable market, including category growth, channel mix, and competitive landscape
• Identify and quantify growth levers such as new store rollout, same-store sales growth, new formats or categories, omnichannel/e-commerce, and pricing or margin improvement
• Analyse store-level, category-level, and customer cohort data to assess unit economics, productivity, and maturity curves
• Build and maintain spreadsheet models for business plan review, growth scenarios, and sensitivity analysis
• Pressure-test management projections and develop an independent view of the base, upside, and downside cases
• Synthesise primary and secondary research (expert calls, customer surveys, store visits, industry reports) into clear insights
• Prepare client-ready decks and storylines with clear, data-backed findings and recommendations
• Work closely with the engagement manager and client team, flagging risks, red flags, and key value drivers early
• Meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to evolving workplans in a fast-paced deal environment
