Job summary

Societe Generale Global Solution Centre seeks an experienced Business Analyst specialized in Calypso to own end-to-end business processes, collaborate with stakeholders, and translate requirements into detailed user stories and specs. The role includes leading testing strategies, driving QA improvements, and mentoring new joiners.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in Calypso BA, strong knowledge of Backoffice, SWIFTS, and capital markets, plus hands-on SQL and shell scripting skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in Calypso.
• Strong exposure to Calypso Backoffice functions, messaging, workflow, and settlement (SWIFTS).
• Capital markets knowledge across securities, money market, FX, and derivatives.

Responsibilities

• Act as a functional expert on end-to-end Calypso business processes.
• Collaborate with Product Owner and stakeholders to analyse and challenge requirements.
• Translate requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
• Lead testing strategy and improve QA practices.
• Suggest process improvements and better delivery approaches.
• Train new joiners on product, specifications, and solutioning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Functional expert, with strong knowledge of end-end business process on Calypso Application
• Expected sphere of influence and collaboration is expected to be immediate team and interfacing teams.
• Skills involving negotiation and convincing are important, but person needn\'t be an expert.
• Train new joiners and team members functionally on the product, Functional Specifications, User Stories, Design and Solutioning (Impact Analysis and Validations)
• Liaise with all related Business and Support Unit stakeholders, including Product Owner, to analyse and challenge business requirements,
• Leading to functional specifications and detailed user stories
• Suggest better ways of working and delivering the tasks assigned
• Present domain related topics in relevant forums and discussions
• Help to implement decisions taken during IS Strategy Opco\’s of her/his conurbation
• Work out the team\'s deliverables as per the planning chalked out by the PO
• Make sure that all the deliverables are met as per time, cost and plan
• To help in implementing project/applications/services architecture and propose modifications
• To identify pain points and highlight the same along with some high-level solution proposal
• Research to determine if solutions currently exist within calypso or required customization
• Strengthen functional testing strategy definition and activities
• Contribute to Product functional improvement with metrics on business usage
• Validate the effectiveness and coverage of test strategy
• Propose new ways of testing in line with evolving market standards/practices in QA area. Implementation Strategy and Support

Required

Profile required

• 8+ years hands on experience as a Business Analyst in Calypso
• Good exposure on Calypso Backoffice function, Message setup, workflow, settlement (SWIFTS), strong knowledge on Accounting & statements, Settlement instruction, BO Positions & expert in customization around Calypso
• Product Knowledge on capital markets as Securities including Corporate Actions, Money Market, Foreign Exchange, Listed and OTC Derivatives
• Able to trouble shoot & out of box thinking for the solutioning & designing
• Ownership attitude & good influencing skill is expected
• Highly motivated, good communication, ability to follow the open point till the closure is expected
• Hands on writing sql for analysis & good to have Unix commands understanding & basic shell scripts
• Agile environment exposure preferred
• Must have strong analytical skills
