Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 monitoring and operational support for Connex EFT Switch platforms.
• Monitor and support transaction processing across ATM, POS, and payment networks.
• Investigate and resolve incidents impacting transaction processing and payment services.
• Diagnose issues across the transaction flow, including APIs, Layer 7 routing, and switch processing components.
• Identify and analyze traffic anomalies, distinguishing between outages and volume fluctuations.
• Perform production support, incident triage, and root cause analysis using monitoring tools.
• Utilize NetXMS and transaction monitoring solutions to proactively ID issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure system stability.

Connex EFT Switch Support Engineer (Production Support Engineer) Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Connex EFT Switch Support Engineer to support and maintain the Connex EFT Switch platform running on HPE NonStop systems. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, stability, and performance of critical payment transaction processing systems, including ATM and POS transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 monitoring and operational support for Connex EFT Switch platforms.
• Monitor and support transaction processing across ATM, POS, and payment networks.
• Investigate and resolve incidents impacting transaction processing and payment services.
• Diagnose issues across the transaction flow, including APIs, Layer 7 routing, and switch processing components.
• Identify and analyze traffic anomalies, distinguishing between genuine service outages and transaction volume fluctuations.
• Perform production support, incident triage, and root cause analysis using monitoring and observability tools.
• Utilize tools such as NetXMS and transaction monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure system stability and service continuity.
• Support high-availability and active-active production environments handling mission-critical financial transactions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of ISO 8583 transaction processing standards.
• Solid knowledge of the payment transaction lifecycle, including authorization, switching, clearing, and settlement processes.
• Hands-on experience with HPE NonStop (Tandem) platforms.
• Experience supporting EFT Switch applications, preferably Connex EFT Switch.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and transaction routing architectures.
• Experience with production monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as NetXMS or similar platforms.
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts, including MTTR, reliability, availability, and observability.
