Job summary

FIS in Pune, India is seeking a skilled HP NonStop/Tandem software developer to join the Connex on HP Nonstop and Base24 ecosystem. You will work in a SAFe-enabled scrum team handling both application development and site reliability engineering tasks in a high‑responsibility role.

The ideal candidate brings 3–12 years' hands-on experience with Connex/Base24/EPOC, TAL or C, and COBOL/SCOBOL, plus SQL tools, Pathway and Enscribe.

Qualifications

• 3–12 years of experience in Connex/Base24/EPOC development.
• Experience with HP NonStop/Tandem development.
• Programming in TAL or C.
• Experience with COBOL and SCOBOL.
• Experience with Pathway, Enscribe and SQL.
• Understanding of Debit Card payment processing environment.
• SAFe experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HP NonStop/Tandem applications for card processing.
• Collaborate in a Scrum team with PM/SM, developers, BA and QA.
• Analyze, design, code, debug, modify and unit test software enhancements.
• Define system requirements with product managers and users.
• Create and revise technical documentation.
• Mentor junior developers on application development practices.

About the team

An amazing opportunity to join a talented team maintaining the FIS Flagship Transaction Debit Processing Switch; Connex on HP Nonstop. Leveraging Safe Agile framework to provide innovative data solutions driving real business value to both our internal and external customers.

What you will be doing

• A multifaceted HP NonStop/Tandem platform software Developer (for Card Transaction Authorization Processing (AP) function) with a high degree of responsibility and a broad spectrum of opportunities (of doing both application development & site reliability engineering role).
• Assigned to a scrum team consisting of project manager/scrum master, developers, business analysts, and quality control testers.
• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies, and unit tests software enhancements and/or new products.
• Takes personal responsibility for quality of individual deliverables and contributes to the quality assurance of the team's deliverables.
• Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or modifications.
• Participates in all Agile team meetings and ceremonies.
• Creates and revises all technical documentation related to coding and development.
• Trains new or junior developers on aspects of an application or system and development processes.

What you bring

• Minimum 3 - 12 years of experience in Connex or Base24 or EPOC Development
• Experience with HP NonStop/Tandem development with skills in performing requirement analysis, design, and coding in Connex or Base24.
• Programming experience with TAL or C
• Good to have experience in COBOL, SCOBOL.
• Experience with Pathway, Enscribe, and SQL systems.
• Business knowledge and understanding of Debit Card payment processing environment and ATM transactions.
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprises (SAFe).
• Attention to detail, diligence, and accuracy.
