Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Component Engineer in Bengaluru, India, with 5+ years of experience in component engineering. The role demands expertise in electrical/electronic components, with an emphasis on reliability and supplier management.

Qualifications

Component Engineer

Experience Level: 5+ years. Qualification: BE Electrical/Electronics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze critical parameters from datasheets of electrical components and identify alternate parts; conduct Form Fit Functions Analysis.
• Provide inputs on component selection for new designs to improve product reliability through design reviews.
• Initiate and lead efforts to identify and qualify second sources for equivalent parts/materials, ensuring supplier risk mitigation, cost reduction, and reliability improvements.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain by resolving and implementing component-related problem reports.
• Engage in all aspects of component engineering, including design support, component selection, reliability assessment, availability, and cost analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience in component engineering with a strong understanding of electrical and electronic components and their application in product design and manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of UL, IEC, CSA, and ANSI standards applicable to industrial applications and the semiconductor industry.
• Proficiency in evaluating and selecting components such as connectors, circuit breakers, multiconductor cables, wires, contactors, relays, ICs, resistors, etc.
• Experience in Supplier base management for electrical/electromechanical components.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and self‑motivated, detail‑oriented approach with passion for continuous improvement.
• Results‑oriented and able to drive execution with consistent delivery on commitments and stretch goals.

Desired Skills

• Experience with PLM, library management, and industry standards for electrical and electromechanical components.
• Hands‑on experience with quality tools such as 5WHY, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.
• Excellent organizational, data collection, and presentation skills.
