Role: Compliance Manager Labour Law
Overview:
The Senior Manager - Compliance will be responsible for PAN India regulatory labour law compliance for Sodexo, working in close coordination with external compliance partners/vendors and Regional HR Business Partners (HRBPs). The role ensures statutory adherence, day-to-day compliance execution, and audit readiness across all operating locations.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance Management
- Ensure PAN India compliance under EPF, ESIC, Minimum Wages, CLRA, Shops & Establishments, Payment of Wages, Payment of Bonus, Payment of Gratuity, POSH, and the emerging Labour Codes.
- Track state-specific legislative changes and support timely, accurate implementation.
- Maintain a compliance calendar for statutory filings, renewals, licenses, and returns.
External Partner Coordination
- Manage day-to-day coordination with external compliance partners for filings, license renewals, and inspections.
- Review compliance reports, registers, and challans submitted by partners for accuracy and timeliness.
- Flag and follow up on discrepancies or delays with compliance vendors.
HRBP & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Regional HRBPs to execute ground-level compliance and resolve site-specific queries.
- Act as the first point of contact for regional HR and operations on labour law matters.
- Provide clear, practical compliance guidance to non-legal stakeholders.
Audit & Risk Support
- Conduct periodic compliance audits/checklists across regions; identify gaps and track closure.
- Support internal and client audits with documentation and evidence.
- Escalate compliance risks to the Head of Compliance in a timely manner.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare compliance MIS, dashboards, and status updates for leadership review.
- Draft and maintain compliance process notes and communication material.
Required Qualification
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in social work, HR, or related field (LLB preferred).
- 6–10 years of experience in labour law compliance, preferably across multi-location/PAN India operations.
- Strong working knowledge of EPF, ESIC, Minimum Wages, CLRA, S&E Act, and the four Labour Codes.
- Experience coordinating with third-party compliance vendors/partners.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations.
