Commercial Manager EDIBLE OILS, IMPORT & EXPORT OPERATIONS

Qualification:
MBA / Post Graduate in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or a relevant discipline.
Experience:
Relevant experience in edible oils, bulk liquid terminal operations, import/export, port operations, warehousing and property management.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Terminal Manager to independently manage the overall operations of an edible oil terminal, including import/export activities, port coordination, warehouse operations, property management, safe custody of company assets and cost control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Terminal & Warehouse Operations
- Manage day-to-day operations of the edible oil terminal, including receipt, storage, handling and dispatch.
- Supervise bulk edible oil storage, tank farm operations and related facilities.
- Manage warehouses handling agricultural commodities such as rice, maize and other commodities.
- Monitor inventory, stock reconciliation, quality, storage losses and pilferage.
Import & Export Operations
- Coordinate import and export operations through ports.
- Liaise with Port Authorities, Customs Authorities, CHA Agents/Customs Brokers, Shipping Agents, Surveyors and Transporters.
- Monitor vessel arrival, berthing, loading/unloading, clearance and dispatch.
- Ensure timely completion of port and customs documentation and formalities.
- Monitor demurrage, detention, port and handling charges and take corrective measures to minimise costs.
Property & Asset Management
- Ensure safe custody, security and maintenance of company properties, terminal premises, warehouses, land, buildings and other assets.
- Monitor lease agreements, lease rentals, renewals and other property-related obligations.
- Maintain proper records of company properties and assets.
- Prevent unauthorised occupation, encroachment, damage or misuse of company property.
Cost Control & Administration
- Monitor day-to-day terminal expenditure and implement effective cost-control measures.
- Review transportation, storage, handling, port and other operational costs.
- Verify vendor/service provider bills before processing.
- Maintain operational records and submit periodic reports to Management.
- Coordinate with Finance, Commercial, Logistics, Legal, Purchase and other departments.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of terminal, warehouse, logistics and import/export operations.
- Experience in edible oil/bulk liquid storage and handling will be preferred.
- Good knowledge of port, customs and shipping procedures.
- Excellent liaisoning and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, ERP/SAP and computer applications.
- Strong leadership, administration, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage operations and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, accountability and responsibility for company assets.
