Job summary

Sopra Steria Group is hiring an AS400 Developer for our Noida/BLR locations, with 4-6 years of related experience. The role requires strong COBOL, CL, and DB2 skills and a solid background in RPG, RPGLE, and embedded SQL.

The position involves designing and developing new features, providing maintenance for existing applications, and mentoring junior team members in an Agile environment. Education required includes B.E./B.Tech./MCA.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years in AS400 development with COBOL, CL and DB2.
• Experience in financial applications (Loans, Cards, Mortgage, Retail Banking) preferred.
• Maintenance and support on CL/SQLCBL/RPGLE/RPG400/SQLRPGLE based apps.
• Strong RPG development skills (RPG, RPG III, RPGLE, Embedded SQL, Free Format RPGLE).
• Strong knowledge of OS/400, CL, job control language and job scheduler.
• DB2 and Cobol DB2 programming knowledge.
• Participate in design and development of new features.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology.
• Mentoring junior team members.
• Good communication skills.

Job Description

Position : AS400 Developer

Experience: 4 to 6 years

Location: Noida, BLR ( Prefer Noida)

Education: B.E./ B.Tech. / MCA

Primary Skills : AS400, OS400, Cobol, CL, DB2

1. 4-6 years of AS400 Development environment with strong COBOL, CL, and DB2 skills.


2. Previous experience working with financial application involving Loan/Credit Card/Mortgage/Retail Banking is preferable.


3. Experienced in providing Support and Maintenance on existing CL/SQLCBL/RPGLE/RPG400/SQLRPGLE based applications.


4. Good RPG development skills in RPG, RPG III, RPGLE, Embedded SQL and Free Format RPGLE.


5. Strong knowledge of OS 400 operating systems and CL job control language and job scheduler.


6. Strong knowledge in DB2 and Cobol DB2 programming


7. Participate in Design and Development of new features in the product.


8. Knowledge in Agile working methodology.


9. Mentoring of Junior Team members


10. Possess good communication skills

Total Experience Expected: 04-06 years

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
