Job summary

Ciel HR in Navi Mumbai is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Fitter to create, load and modify CNC programs and to set up tools and materials on CNC machines. You will plan machining by studying drawings and tolerances, and program mills and lathes with precise instructions including zero and reference points.

Qualifications

• ITI/NCTVT fitter course from a recognized institute.
• 3–5 years of experience in heavy engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM is desirable.
• Knowledge of Siemens or FANUC control systems.

Responsibilities

• Create, load, examine and modify CNC programs.
• Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machine.
• Plan machining by studying drawings, tolerances and parameters.
• Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, zero and reference points.
• Set tool registers, offsets, compensation and switches.
• Calculate requirements and prove part programs.
• Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments and jigs.
• Load stock and operate feed mechanisms.
• Verify settings by measurements and first-run parts.
• Maintain process quality in drilling, grooving, turning and threading.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, reprogram controls and replace worn tools.
• Maintain safe operations and complete preventive maintenance.
• Document actions and communicate needs across shifts.

Create, load, examine and modify CNC programs.

• Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machine.
• Plans machining by studying drawings, specifications, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.
• Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
• Calculating requirements and proving part programs.
• Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chuck, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers. Indicating vices: tramming heads.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into positions.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces adhering to standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chase operations.
• Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Maintain continuity among works shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Preferred candidate profile

The candidate should be an

experience in any heavy engineering industry

• ITI/NCTVT fitter course from a recognized institute with around 3- 5yrs
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM is desirable.
• Knowledge of SIEMENS / FANUC
