Job summary

Athena Consultancy Services in Hyderabad seeks an experienced CNC HMC Supervisor to oversee high-precision steel and iron casting production at the Kothur site. The role demands hands-on operation of Mitsui Seiki, Hyundai, and DMG Mori machines with Fanuc controllers, GD&T, and robust setup prove-out per SOP.

Read CNC programs, edit tool offsets, inspect tools, and ensure first-off quality while minimizing rework.

Qualifications

• Experience operating HMC machines and proven setup over a wide range of castings.
• Strong GD&T understanding and ability to read drawings precisely.
• Proficiency with CNC programs, G/M codes, and tool offsets.
• Hands-on experience with high-tonnage large-diameter castings.
• Knowledge of multiple machine brands and Fanuc controllers is preferred.
• Ability to identify tooling needs and verify tool condition prior to machining.

Responsibilities

• Prove out setups per SOP for large castings up to 1 m diameter and length.
• Dial and machine large castings, ensuring accuracy and minimal rework.
• Operate Mitsui Seiki, Hyundai, and DMG Mori machines with Fanuc 31i Model A.
• Read and edit CNC programs; verify G and M codes during production.
• Inspect parts with bore gauge and Vernier; adjust offsets as needed.
• Identify and address root causes of rework during machining.
• Monitor tooling, setting angles, and angular head setup for accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• The incumbent need to have strong background on prove out on HMC machining for bigger size steel & iron casted components which are used in Power, Railway, Mining trucks, OHV, general engineering & other sectors.
• Must have the ability to dial the larger castings up to 1 meter dia and 1 meter length. Casting weight averaging from 500kgs to 2 tons.
• Must have previous experience of operating Hyundai, DMG and Mitsui Seiki machines.
• Must have knowledge of operating FANUC controller.
• Must have Knowledge of Drawing study, GD&T knowledge.
• Setting knowledge of the castings/Averaging of casting for 1st operation.
• Prove out of setup part as per the given SOP.
• Able to identify the cause of reworks during machining process.
• Must be able to identify the tool specification based upon the tool list provided.
• Must be to check the tool condition before starting the machining process.
• Must be able to read the CNC Program before starting the machining process.
• Must have sound knowledge of G codes and M codes used in CNC Program.
• Must have knowledge of using the measuring instruments. (Bore gauge, Vernier, etc.)
• Must have knowledge of Tool off set editing and angular head setting and operating.
• Must have knowledge of Milling, Boring, Threading, Grooving and Inter polation milling.

Should have any one of the following Machines & CNC Controllers hands on operating experience required.

• Mitsui Seiki HS6A - Fanuc 31i - Model A
• Hyundai KH 80G, KH 1000G - Fanuc 31i - Model A
• DMG Mori NHX 8000 / NHX 4000 - Fanuc 31i – Model A

Qualifications, Experience

• DME/B.Tech (CNC HMC Machine Operating Experience 8 to 13 years)
• Certificate course CNC Machines Operating & Programming is added advantage
