Cluster Manager – HDFC Branch Banking – Mumbai

Job Purpose

Derive insurance business from assigned relationships/channel partners within a zone, ensuring pre‑ and post‑sales support and consistent quarterly growth.

Job Challenges

• Market volatility due to BSLI’s focus on unit‑linked policies.
• High dependency on the HDFC branch banking model & alignment with their priorities.
• Balancing process requirements with channel partner expectations.

Key Result Areas

• KRA1 – Achieve Premium & Revenue Targets
  1. Continuously interact with channel partners (multiple branch heads).
  2. Map key decision makers and share information with RH/ZH.
  3. Actively engage in all RnR activities run by the organisation.
  4. Create innovative branch activities to increase customer penetration.
• KRA2 – Execute Smooth Sales Function
  1. Communicate process changes and regulations via training modules.
  2. Ensure actual sales, service aspects, presses, issuance, and complaint handling proceed without blockages.
• KRA3 – Relationship Management (Open Architecture)
  1. Handle bank customer requirements across service and product ranges.
  2. Maintain insurance and bank product knowledge.
  3. Manage relationships at all levels to achieve desired outputs.
• KRA4 – Build New Business Opportunities
  1. Identify innovative methods with channels to enhance database penetration.
  2. Use FLS Review mechanism to achieve 40% activation with 2 cases/active @ 50k ATS.
  3. Ensure product mix of 50% Trad, 40% ULIP, 10% Term.
  4. Provide input for new products & sales pitch based on channel needs.
  5. Identify training needs for internal and partner teams.
• KRA5 – Execute Profitable Business Acquisition
  1. Scrutinise business regularly and report relevant information to superiors.
  2. Interact with customers via welcome calls.
• KRA6 – Achieve Persistency Targets
  1. Communicate with customers.
  2. Resolve queries to ensure timely renewals.
