Qualifications

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology or Life Sciences with relevant certifications.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of lab experience, including 2–3 years in supervisory/cluster role.
  • Experience in NABL-accredited labs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily laboratory activities across all cluster centers.
  • Participate in lab testing, result validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure adherence to turnaround time and accuracy of results.
  • Monitor SOPs, quality control, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Train and guide technicians and staff.
  • Coordinate with doctors and management to resolve issues.
  • Submit operational reports and propose improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Operational Oversight
  • Supervise daily laboratory activities including sample accessioning, processing, and reporting across all cluster centers.
  • Actively participate in lab testing, result validation, and troubleshooting when required.
  • Ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT) and maintain accuracy in test results.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Monitor and implement SOPs, quality control programs, and regulatory guidelines (NABL/ISO).
  • Ensure biosafety standards and equipment calibration are followed at all centers.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and readiness checks.
Team Management
  • Guide and support technicians, accessioning officers, and lab staff in their day-to-day activities.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and skill enhancement sessions.
  • Monitor performance and ensure discipline across cluster labs.
Coordination & Communication
  • Act as the single point of contact for all labs within the cluster.
  • Coordinate with doctors, pathologists, and management to resolve operational issues.
  • Handle escalations related to lab performance, quality, or service delivery.
Inventory & Resource Management
  • Monitor availability and utilization of reagents, consumables, and equipment at each center.
  • Ensure cost control and optimum resource allocation.
Reporting
  • Submit daily/weekly/monthly operational reports to higher management.
  • Highlight challenges, risks, and propose corrective actions for improvement.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pathology lab procedures and quality standards.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple centres simultaneously.
  • Good communication, analytical, and decision-making ability.
