Job summary

Lupin Diagnostics is seeking an experienced Lab Manager to oversee end-to-end laboratory operations in Maharashtra. The role requires NABL accreditation experience, regulatory compliance, and team leadership across pre-analytical to post-analytical processes.

You will monitor quality indicators, drive improvements, manage inventory, and coordinate with clinicians and collection centers to ensure timely reporting and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years in NABL-accredited diagnostic or hospital pathology lab
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of NABL, CAP, ISO and quality management systems
  • Proficiency in LIS, MS Office and lab operational metrics

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes to ensure smooth workflow and timely reporting
  • Ensure compliance with NABL, ISO, and regulatory requirements by maintaining documentation, SOPs, quality records, and audit readiness
  • Monitor laboratory quality indicators and implement IQC, EQAS, and CAPA
  • Manage and supervise laboratory personnel, including staffing, attendance/duty roster, performance monitoring, training and competency assessments
  • Coordinate with pathologists, clinicians, hospitals, other labs and collection centres to ensure efficient sample management and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee inventory and procurement management for reagents, consumables, equipment and vendor coordination
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Drive laboratory productivity and operational efficiency by monitoring KPIs, TAT, workload distribution and process improvements
  • Implement biosafety, infection control and BMW management practices in accordance with regulatory and safety guidelines
  • Lead accreditation, internal audits, external audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to maintain excellence in laboratory services

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes to ensure smooth workflow and timely reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with NABL, ISO, and regulatory requirements by maintaining documentation, SOPs, quality records, and audit readiness.
  • Monitor laboratory quality indicators and implement Internal Quality Control (IQC), External Quality Assurance (EQAS), and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage and supervise laboratory personnel, including staffing, attendance/ duty roster, performance monitoring, training, and competency assessments.
  • Coordinate with pathologists, clinicians, hospitals, other lab setups and collection centers to ensure efficient sample management and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee inventory and procurement management for reagents, consumables, equipment, and vendor coordination to prevent operational disruptions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Drive laboratory productivity and operational efficiency by monitoring KPIs, turnaround times (TAT), workload distribution, and process improvements.
  • Implement biosafety, infection control, and biomedical waste management practices (BMW) in accordance with regulatory and safety guidelines.
  • Lead accreditation, internal audits, external audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to maintain excellence in laboratory services.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Technology, Life Sciences, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a NABL-accredited diagnostic or hospital pathology laboratory, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of NABL, CAP, ISO, quality management systems, laboratory operations, and team management.
  • Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Microsoft Office, and laboratory operational metrics.
