Job summary

The Standard India is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platforms and automation solutions. You will collaborate with software, systems, operations and security teams to ensure platforms are highly available, secure, and observable.

This role may focus on Platform Engineering or embedded Automation Engineering, depending on business needs, with on-site work in Bengaluru required and a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer science or related field.
• 2+ years deploying and managing cloud services.
• 5+ years as an automation/DevOps engineer or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Infrastructure as Code, pipeline orchestration, and source control to reliably manage infrastructure and software releases.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and pipeline related issues, acting as an escalation point for delivery and platform teams.
• Develop automation to remediate issues, accelerate delivery, and strengthen cloud security.
• Apply software engineering practices to build tools, services, and automation that improve cloud platform reliability and developer experience.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations, and Security to guide cloud usage and ensure best practice adoption.
• Support continuous improvement through innovation, experimentation, and adoption of cloud native methodologies.
• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role. *

Job Summary

The Cloud Platform Engineer brings strong infrastructure systems and software engineering principles to design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable Cloud platforms and automation solutions for The Standard. You will collaborate with software engineering, systems engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure that platforms and services are highly available, performant, secure, and supported with robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes. This role may focus on either Platform Engineering or Delivery team embedded Automation Engineering, depending on business needs. Platform Engineers build and support reusable cloud platforms and services, while Automation Engineers embedded in delivery teams focus on pipelines, automation, and tooling that accelerate development and deployment

Mode of Working

This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on-site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.

Skills And Background You'll Need

Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field is required.

Required Experience

• 2+ years deploying and managing cloud services
• 2+ years of networking experience supporting on premises or cloud-based infrastructure, with a strong understanding of network security and performance.
• 2+ years working with DevOps practices including IaC, CI/CD, automated testing, autoscaling, and self-healing systems
• 2+ years working in Agile/SAFe Agile using Jira or similar tools
• 5+ years as a Systems, Software, or Cloud Automation Engineer or equivalent roles.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years deploying and managing solutions in Microsoft Azure
• 2+ years deploying and managing Azure Networking
• 2+ years of deploying managing Azure Policy
• 5+ years hands on DevOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, automated testing, self-healing

Desirable Certifications

• AI-900 Azure AI Fundamentals (or equivalent)
• DA-900 Azure Data Fundamentals (or equivalent)
• SC-900 Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (or equivalent)
• AZ 305 Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
• AZ 400 DevOps Engineer Expert (or equivalent)
• AZ-700 Design and Implement Microsoft Azure Network Solutions
• SAFe Practitioner
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator
