Job summary

To the New is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to set up monitoring, support, and optimization across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will work with DevOps and development teams, automate tasks, and lead a shift team ensuring SLA compliance.

Excellent communication and 24x7 availability are required. The role involves onboarding customers, optimizing performance, and maintaining centralized logging.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/MCA with 3+ years of infra management including 2+ years AWS administration.
• Experience in 24x7 support environments for Linux servers, virtualized environments, ECS, EKS, and managing infrastructure for public-facing PHP/Java web apps; familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Strong experience with Web servers like Nginx, Apache; familiarity with Linux scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl).
• Effective written and verbal communication; willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift job.

Responsibilities

• Automate processes using Ansible, Chef, or scripting (Python, Perl, Bash).
• Assist with onboarding and setup of systems across different cloud platforms as per customer needs.
• Share knowledge to expand team expertise and improve the knowledge base.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance (indexes, caching, CDN integration).
• Maintain strong customer relationships through regular cadence calls for business improvement.
• Troubleshoot system/network problems and manage user accounts/password issues.
• Establish centralized logging using Logentries, Loggly, or ELK.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

• Set up monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure components hosted in various cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and on-premise data centers
  


• Provide second-level contact to customers respond to reported issues within the agreed SLA and act as a shift lead for the team handling the first level of support
  


• Work closely with the DevOps team or the development team in identifying and rectifying issues promptly in various environments
  


• Automate various processes using configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, etc., or scripting using Python, Perl, Bash, etc
  


• Augment the DevOps team to perform break/fix tasks on the customers cloud infrastructure after due diligence and discussion with the requisite stakeholders
  


• Act as the primary point of contact for customers and participate in regular cadence calls for business improvement
  


• Own knowledge-sharing sessions to improve the underlying knowledge base of the team, helping them expand their breadth of expertise
  


• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize performance using solutions like database indexes, Vanish, Memcache, Redis, CDN integration, etc
  


• Ownership of client onboarding journey, helping them understand the various processes involved and setup of the various systems involved
  


• Setup, deploy, and manage applications on different cloud platforms as per customer need
  


• Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers expectations
  


• Innovate and actively look for improvements in overall infrastructure, performing critical PoCs for improving customer experience and improved stability of the cloud infrastructure
  


• Troubleshoot system/ network problems and diagnose and solve system issues
  


• Set up new user accounts, and profiles and deal with password issues
  


• Establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals
  


• Implement a centralized log managed on multiple applications using either Logentries, Loggly, or ELK
  

Preferred candidate profile:

• B.E/B.Tech/MCA with 3+ years of experience in managing an infrastructure including at least 2 years in AWS Administration
  


• Experience working in 24x7 Support Environments on help desk tickets, Linux servers in virtualized environments, ECS, EKS, and in managing infrastructure for public-facing PHP or Java web applications, with monitoring tools like Nagios, Site24x7, NewRelic, AppOptics, and Datadog, ticketing tools like JIRA, Freshdesk, and ServiceNow, and creating process documents for help desk support.
  


• Strong experience with Web servers like Nginx, Apache
  


• Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages like Bash, Python, Perl, etc
  


• Effective written and verbal communication skills
  


• Willingness to work in a 24*7 rotational shift job
