Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct and inspire the scientific R&D vision and technology roadmaps for new sensor modalities and water diagnostics.
• Lead chemistry, biochemistry, and sensing teams to develop proprietary reagents, assays, and optical measurement protocols.
• Drive patent filings, trade secrets, and scientific IP generation to maintain CLUIX's moat.
• Oversee lab validation, calibration, interference testing, and reference-method benchmarking (APHA/EPA/BIS).
• Lead grant applications and partnerships with IITs, CSIR labs, and global water institutes.

Description: CLUIX is seeking a distinguished Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to head our scientific research, sensor technology innovations, chemical formulations, and intellectual property (IP) strategy. The CSO will champion breakthroughs in optical sensing, spectrophotometry, electrochemical detection, and reagent chemistry to advance next-generation water diagnostics and environmental monitoring technologies.

About The Role

• Direct and inspire the scientific R&D vision, setting technology roadmaps for new sensor modalities and rapid water diagnostics.
• Lead the chemistry, biochemistry, and sensing technology teams in developing proprietary chemical reagents, assays, and optical measurement protocols.
• Drive patent filings, trade secrets, research publications, and scientific IP generation to maintain CLUIX's technological moat.
• Oversee rigorous laboratory validation, calibration frameworks, interference testing, and benchmark studies against standard reference methods (APHA/EPA/BIS).
• Spearhead grant applications, academic partnerships, and collaborative research with premier institutions like IITs, CSIR labs, and global water institutes.
• Guide the translation of benchtop scientific discoveries into stable, mass-producible, and field-deployable commercial products.
• Ensure stringent adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), lab safety standards, and environmental regulatory guidelines.
• Represent CLUIX at national and international scientific symposiums, regulatory boards, and technical standard committees.

Skill(s) required

• Deep scientific mastery of analytical chemistry, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and optical sensor instrumentation.
• Extensive background in water quality chemistry (heavy metals, anions, physical parameters, microbial indicators).
• Proven track record in intellectual property creation, patent drafting, and academic publishing.
• Strong leadership capabilities to mentor scientists, chemists, and interdisciplinary engineering teams.
• Expertise in statistical experiment design (DoE), analytical method validation, and quality assurance.

Eligibility

• Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of post-PhD research and development experience, with substantial industry or applied technology leadership.
• Demonstrated portfolio of granted patents, high-impact publications, or successful commercial product formulations.
