Job description

ROLE
  • Build and lead Loom Solar’s complete product portfolio and product strategy.
  • Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle: customer need → market research → strategy → roadmap → business case → development → launch → scale → lifecycle management.
  • Identify customer needs, market opportunities, and technology trends; convert them into high‑quality, differentiated, commercially successful products.
  • Develop 3‑year and 5‑year product strategies, identify high‑growth categories, analyze market size, define positioning, and set investment priorities.
  • Build a customer‑centric organization by understanding residential, commercial, C&I, EPC, developer, distributor, government, and export customers; conduct interviews, feedback sessions, market research, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Ensure product‑market fit for every major product by evaluating demand, performance, competitive advantage, pricing, margins, channel acceptance, installation complexity, service requirements, warranty risk, and scalability.
  • Develop financial business cases for new products in partnership with the CFO, covering market size, sales targets, ASP, margins, development and tooling costs, certification, capex, working capital, warranty, and payback.
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO/Head of Engineering to align “what to build” with “how to build,” ensuring successful product development.
  • Establish product pricing and positioning with the CBO and CFO, setting target ASP, competitive pricing, channel margins, dealer economics, product segmentation, and value proposition.
  • Manage product launch coordination across product, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales, marketing, service, and finance; ensure all launch checklist items are ready before market release.
  • Create clear product architecture and SKU strategy to avoid unnecessary proliferation; monitor revenue per SKU, margin per SKU, and inventory per SKU.
  • Maintain continuous market and competitive intelligence, producing monthly product intelligence reports.
  • Set and monitor product quality and reliability standards with COO and Quality, tracking field failure rates, warranty claims, returns, MTBF, and root‑cause improvements.
  • Ensure product serviceability: easy installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, spare‑parts availability, remote diagnostics, technician training, and clear service documentation.
